The definition for impotence or erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve and maintain an erection firm enough for intercourse. It is a condition mainly found in men over the age of 40 years old. This could cause a problem if a couple is trying to conceive too.

However, if erectile dysfunction persists, it may stress you out, weaken your confidence, make you question the way you feel about yourself as a man, and complicate your relationship sometimes. People often avoid explaining impotence causes and do not go for treatments.

Even if you feel embarrassed, discuss your concerns with your doctor if you have erectile dysfunction. Sometimes reversing erectile dysfunction only requires treating an underlying problem. In some situations, it could be necessary to use drugs or other direct treatments.

Causes of Impotence

Medication

Some medications such as Cancer treatment medicine, Blockers (Alpha and Beta), Nervous system depressants, synthetic hormones, and CNS stimulants are a significant cause of impotence.

Neurological Issues

Several neurologic disorders can make men more susceptible to impotence. Nerve disorders impact the brain’s capacity to communicate with the reproductive system. This may make it difficult for you to get an erection.

Psychological Issues

Many psychological factors can cause impotence. Anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues can cause impotence. Relationship issues brought on by stress, poor communication, or other issues are reasons for impotence.

Endocrine Diseases

The endocrine system of the body creates hormones that control various body processes, including moods, fertility, and sexual performance. Sugar and Nerve Damage are common endocrine diseases that can affect penis functionality.

Heart Issues

The penis needs enough blood flow to keep and maintain an erection. Heart diseases like high blood pressure, cholesterol, and hypertension can reduce this blood flow and cause impotence.

Emotional Lifestyle

An emotional lifestyle can cause erectile dysfunction. Performance anxiety, emotions, or substance usage are the reasons behind impotence. Continuous Masturbation to satisfy your sexual desire is also a cause of impotence.

Impotence Treatments

1. Medical Treatment

To treat impotence, several medical procedures are available; alprostadil (Caverject, Edex, MUSE), which is available as an injection or as a suppository, sildenafil (Viagra), avanafil (Stendra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Staxyn, Levitra), and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Doctors also use Vascular surgery and penile implant surgery to treat this disease.

2. Natural Remedies

If you dislike medical treatments, you can also use natural treatments. Some common natural remedies are Panax ginseng, pomegranate, acupuncture, Onions, and Yohimbe. The FDA did not verify these supplements, but anyone can treat erectile dysfunction.

3. Penis Pumps

This method is prevalent in patients who have partial impotence. A person covers their penis with a tube and then ejects all the air from it, leaving a vacuum. The penis becomes erect as a result of blood filling the vacuum. An erection can be kept up by wrapping a rubber ring around the penis at the base to keep the blood there.

4. Psychological Treatments

A doctor would urge the patient to see a psychologist or counselor if stress, anxiety, or other psychological factors are the cause of erectile dysfunction. It might be suggested that both couples attend the appointments collectively if the condition causes conflict and stress in the relationship.

5. Lifestyle Changes

Change your daily routine. Quit substance consumption, eat and sleep well, always keep yourself hydrated, exercise regularly, and be involved in romantic communications with your partner. It will help you in keeping your Erection. These are the common impotence causes and treatments.
